The NBA Finals are already underway and the eyes of the world are pretty much set on the biggest stage on competitive basketball, but that doesn’t mean some things aren’t also happening right before our very eyes.
Notably, there’s a lot of players that are bound to become unrestricted free agents less than a month from now, and there’s going to be some old faces in new places for sure once summertime comes.
But, who’s going where? Which players may be traded a couple of weeks from now? Which team may become a contender next season? Let’s take a look at the hottest NBA Rumors of the day:
New Orleans Pelicans To Ask For Brandon Ingram
The Los Angeles Lakers refuse to give up on their pursuit for Anthony Davis, who hasn’t changed his mind about wanting to leave the New Orleans Pelicans before the start of next season.
Shams reported the Pelicans are now finally listening to offers for their All-Star, while ESPN’s Dave McMenamin claims all trade offers from the Lakers should include Brandon Ingram in order to be considered.
D’Angelo Russell To Be Pursued By 4 Teams
The Brooklyn Nets are definitely going to try and hold on to their All-Star, D’Angelo Russell, but let’s not forget about the fact that he’s going to be an unrestricted free agent and several teams may want to offer more than the Nets are willing to pay for him.
So, according to The Athletic' Shams Charania, it looks like the Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Indiana Pacers are all going to try and make a run at the combo guard in the summer.
Kyrie Irving Getting Closer To Signing With The Nets
Kyrie Irving’s future is still up in the air, but latest reports claimed that he was bound to narrow down his choice to either the New York Knicks, or Los Angeles Lakers. However, it looks like the Brooklyn Nets are now the biggest frontrunner to acquire his services.
As per Stephen A. Smith, Irving is even trying to find an apartment in the Brooklyn area and the former NBA Champion has already committed with the team, who believes he could coexist with Russell.
Oklahoma City Thunder Intrigued About Bradley Beal
Bradley Beal is definitely going to be up for grabs this season, as the Washington Wizards are going to fully enter rebuilding mode with John Wall in the shelf for the foreseeable future and them losing a lot of players in free agency.
So, with Beal being their lone valuable and tradeable asset, the Oklahoma City Thunder could be in the mix for him, according to Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report, but they’d have to trade away Jerami Grant, Terrance Ferguson, Steven Adams, and a couple of picks.
Kevin Durant To Stay If Warriors Lose The Finals
Kevin Durant is supposed to leave the Golden State Warriors in free agency, with the New York Knicks as his preferred destination. However, Stephen A. Smith claims he could still change his mind about free agency.
With Kyrie Irving edging closer to a move to the Brooklyn Nets, Durant could either join the Knicks without him, or he might as well decide to stay put at the Bay, but that would only happen if they lose the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
