It's not common for there to be this much hype surrounding a Summer League game, but the circumstances were special last night.
It was the NBA's most storied rivalry, the Lakers, and the Celtics, with the #2 pick Lonzo Ball going up against #3 pick Jayson Tatum. Throw in the fact Tatum has been dominating the SL and Lonzo Ball's haters were chomping at the bit to ridicule him for another terrible performance, and what you get is the first sold out NBA Summer League game ever.
The game wasn't a disappointment either, with the two top draft picks going head to head.
Lonzo Ball, after a terrible 5-point, 2-15 from the field performance, came out and nabbed a triple-double of 11 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. It wasn't enough however, as Tatum's Celtics came out with the win, 86-81, with Tatum dropping 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
