AC Milan haven't been the same dominant team they once were for quite some long time, and, even despite their biggest efforts to lure top-tier players to San Siro, they've constantly struck out on big-name signings.
That's why it looks like the once feared and respected Rossoneri are going to have to settle with making a run at players that have a lot of talent but have failed to prove their worth on their teams, like Barcelona's Malcolm.
Apparently, the Italian giants are quite interested in making a run at Malcolm and have even engaged in talks with his agent, as reported by Italian outlet Calciomercato.
Malcolm was pretty close to making a move to the Serie A and join AS Roma earlier on his career, but eventually decided to stay put at Camp Nou. However, the lack of playing time under Ernesto Valverde's command has raised a lot of concerns over his opportunities in the future.
The Brazilian winger wants to be a part of his national team's squad for this upcoming Copa America and that seems quite unlikely given the way he's underperformed for the Catalans so far.
Still, he's quite talented and would have a lot of pressure off his shoulders by joining the Rossoneri, considering the team has mightily struggled to keep up with Juventus and Napoli throughout the last decade.
So far, he's only scored 4 goals with a couple of assists in 19 caps for the Blaugrana throughout the entire season, so a change of environment is due for the 22-year-old if he wants to go back to his best.
Moreover, Barcelona may also open the door for Samuel Umtiti and Philippe Coutinho to leave in the summer, as they're just not a part of Ernesto Valverde's plans going forward and have failed to prove they're worthy of more playing time at Camp Nou.
