Arsenal Legend Claims Unai Emery Is Running Out Of Time At London

Things haven't looked good for Arsenal and Unai Emery to start the season, as the Gunners have only been able to win a couple of games, drawing two more and losing the other vs. Liverpool.

Arsenal spent a lot of money in the summer to go back to the top-four of the English Premier League, but they have vastly underperformed to start the season despite their huge investments.

Hence, former Arsenal great Nigel Winterburn thinks Unai Emery is running out of time this year, as there won't be more time for excuses after making that many moves in the offseason:

"I said last season that this would be the season to judge Unai Emery. Last season he had a lack of funds. He had a group of players that needed to be changed, and it wasn't really his team. Now we're seeing a lot more players that he's brought into the team. He's got to find a way for Arsenal to be competitive, particularly at home, because their away form is nowhere near good enough. He's got to find a formation and a system that isn't going to give so many chances away," the former left-back told Love Sport Radio.

Moreover, he went on to criticize the way Emery prepared the match vs. Watford, a game they could've end up losing if it wasn't for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's heroics:

"I thought he was very, very bold to play (Mesut) Ozil and (Dani) Ceballos in the same team, and that's where Watford exposed them. It was too easy to play through Arsenal and get at their back four," he concluded.

Throughout his career, Emery has faced a lot of criticism for his lack of timing and adjustments, so he better prove his doubters wrong quickly or he'll be heading out the door in no time.
