Barcelona CEO Admits They May Not Be Able Bring Neymar Back

Even though it looked like Neymar was going to force his way out of Parc des Princes in the summer, the Brazilian striker ended up staying poot at the French capital.

Neymar was heavily pursuit by Real Madrid and Barcelona, and both clubs made a handful of bids for his services, but the French champions were reluctant to compromise and let him go back to Spain.

However, there was still a lot of speculation regarding a possible move out of the team either in January or next summer, but Barcelona's CEO Oscar Grau kind of shut the door on his signing, at least for the time being:

"Neymar was a sports area request and the club did everything in order to get him, albeit in a financially sustainable way. We made many proposals to Paris Saint-Germain. They always rejected them. I don't know if we are going to target him again next summer. Planning for next season will be done in the future. We would have been delighted to have the chance to bring Neymar back, but the terms always had to be reasonable. If some parameters had been accomplished, it would have been possible, but PSG were not happy about losing him," the CEO claimed during a press conference, as quoted by Diario Depor.

Barcelona had already made a huge investment in Antonie Griezmann prior to their pursuit for Neymar, and they already have Ousmane Dembele under contract for the long run as well.

Moreover, with their latest wonderkid Ansu Fati starring, perhaps there won't even be a need to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Still, PSG supporters are quite unhappy with Neymar and the fact that he wanted to leave the club, and he's also let everybody know about his desire to leave, so there will definitely be much more to this story.
