Transfer Rumors: Barcelona To Sign Manchester United Striker In The Summer

Luis Suarez isn't getting any younger and Josep Maria Bartomeu is well aware of that, so expect FC Barcelona to be quite aggressive in the summer in their pursuit for top-notch talent up front.

The Blaugrana have been looking for an extra striker for quite some long time since they completely let go of Munir and eventually signed Kevin Prince Boateng on a half-season loan.

Obviously, the veteran forward wasn't the answer to Ernesto Valverde's prayers and with Philippe Coutinho playing so poorly and the often-injured Ousmane Dembele constantly in the shelf, the Catalans will try and dig deep in the market to get Lio Messi more help.

That's why according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, they won't give up on their desire to sign Manchester United wonderkid Marcus Rashford in the summer.

The Red Devils have refused to engage in talks about a potential move for Rashford earlier in the year, but with the team finishing way outside of the top four and missing on next year's UEFA Champions League, they might as well be forced to let him go now.

Rashford is one of the most talented youngsters in the world right now, and his ability to play on either flank of the pitch, as a false 9 or as a striker make him a perfect fit next to Suarez and Messi.

So, if The Catalans end up missing on Antoine Griezmann, they'll make Rashford one of their top targets for the summer, with Arsenal duo Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the other options Bartomeu is set to consider.

Rashford will stay under contract until 2020 but has put his contract renewal talks on hold amid the team's recent crisis and would be more than willing to head out the door after scoring 13 goals and 9 assists on 47 caps for the Red Devils this season.
