Bayern Munchen and Niko Kovac have already made a lot of noise in this transfer window by securing the signings of Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard to reinforce their defense amid Matt Hummels' departure.
However, it's the offense what worries the Bavarians going forward, and that's why they'reluctant to give up on their pursuit for Manchester City's Leroy Sane.
Sane had a great stint at Germany with Schalke 04 before completing a move to Manchester City, but he's seen his playing time take a major dip lately.
And with most Bavarian fans looking forward to their team signing the winger, Niko Kovac addressed the situation to assure them they will do whatever it takes to sign him this summer:
"Our bosses have shown him a clear plan. We are very focused, Leroy knows what to expect here, and when a player with such capacity comes to FC Bayern, he knows his job. You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realize this transfer. We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. The public knows that and we know that," Kovac told Sport Bild.
Kovac and Munchen are coming off another domestic triumph after coming back in the league to take Borussia Dortmund down for the Bundesliga trophy. However, the German club's officials aren't satisfied with domestic glory and are looking forward to winning another UEFA Champions League, so adding Sane to the mix would be a step forward for them right now.
Sane scored 10 goals to go along with 10 assists in 31 caps for the Citizens last season, and he's versatile enough to fill the gap players like Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, or James Rodriguez are leaving on the German champions.
