Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director has ruled out any possible January move for Jadon Sancho. The winger’s future at the club has been uncertain after several off-field issues which made him get internally suspended at some point in the season.
This situation led to rumors about a potential departure from Dortmund, with Manchester United and Liverpool thought to be Jadon’s next destination. He is still expected to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, but Michael Zorc doesn’t see any scenario in which the youngster leaves the club at the turn of the year.
"We’re continuing to plan with him," Zorc said, quoted by The Manchester Evening News. "He’s a fundamental player for us and I do not see any scenario where he leaves us.
"We have already had some situations with him to talk about, and there have been a lot of interviews in the last few weeks.
"We are in a good way; when he came off the bench in Barcelona and also in Berlin, he gave us a top performance."
These comments will stop any approach clubs can make in January, including his former side, Manchester City, who aren’t interested in re-signing the 19-year-old, according to the Mirror.
Even with Leroy Sane expected to join Bayern Munich next season, Manchester City are happy with their group of wingers, so Sancho will head to a different side. The English international is ready to keep improving his game, so it’s only a matter of time before we see him playing in one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
