Manchester United are set to finally put their hands in one of their longed-for players this summer transfer window, Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Red Devils have reportedly reached an agreement with Palace over the £50-million signing of Wan-Bissaka, with the defender set for a medical 'imminently'.
United have been following the right-back since the opening of this summer's transfer window, following a terrific season in 2018/19 for the 21-year-old, which ended up with him winning the club's Player of the Year award. Aaron would become the second signing of the club this offseason after securing a deal for Swansea City’s winger Daniel James a couple of days ago.
According to BBC Sport's David Ornstein, United have finally agreed on a £50 million deal with the Eagles, with personal terms also accepted. Wan-Bissaka will earn up to £90,000 a week, a considerable upgrade on his £10,000 contract at Palace, where he was the lowest paid player on the first team.
This deal hadn’t been completed earlier because of Aaron’s international duties with the English U21 national side, but now that Aaron and the squad are coming back home from Italy following their group stage exit at the European championship, it’s only a matter of hours before he completes his medical.
Wan-Bissaka has been at Palace since the age of 11, making his way through the ranks at the academy before finally making it into the senior squad in 2018. He only needed one season to display all his potential and earned the attention of one of the biggest clubs in England and overseas. As stated before, Aaron will join Daniel James as the only two signings of the Red Devils this summer.
With all the rumors surrounding the team, this won't be the last we hear about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side about transfers this offseason.
