Manchester United are having a great day today; they first struck a deal for Leicester City’s defender Harry Maguire and now they look ready to confirm even more good news. The Red Devils are on the last stages of completing a move for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, in a proposed swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.
After Inter missed out on the chance to land Lukaku, Man. Utd. instantly put their attention on Dybala and it looks like things will go down smoothly and without any major inconvenience. Lukaku is reportedly eager to make his way to Turin, but the Dybala’s situation was quite different, as reports suggested he would fight to stay at the Allianz Stadium.
Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, negotiations have advanced in recent hours and all that is left to agree on are minor financial details, like Dybala's image rights and the technical details of the payment plan.
Lukaku’s part of the deal is already completed, with Juventus already agreeing on terms with the Belgium international. The only thing that was missing here was Dybala and his negotiations with the Red Devils.
Di Marzio also added that Manchester could take Mario Mandzukic out of Juventus as well, but it’s unclear if he was part of the Dybala-Lukaku swap deal initial negotiation.
Talks between the two sides are ongoing given that Manchester are in a hurry. The Premier League summer transfer window closes on August 8th, way earlier than in the rest of Europe. They could get not only one but two elite strikers in Dybala and Mandzukic, although the latter is 33 years old.
Before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mandzukic and Dybala formed a great duo in Turin, something that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might try to replicate with his team.
