The Premier League summer transfer window is less than 24 hours away from its closure, therefore every English team is trying to make their last moves before the deadline strikes. One of the most active squads in recent days has been Tottenham Hotspur, who've been linked to several players in the last couple of hours.
They were heavily linked with Paulo Dybala and Philippe Coutinho since the beginning of the week, but none of them will be making his way to North London, at least not now.
Instead, the Spurs have completed a move for Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso, one of their top targets this summer. According to Goal, Betis and Tottenham will announce the transfer in the upcoming hours after the two sides agreed on a €60 million (£55.4m/$67.4m) deal for the midfielder.
Earlier today, Betis pulled out Giovani of the squad for tonight's friendly game with Las Palmas. That sparked the rumors about his move to England, which is now on the verge of being completed.
After having a terrific season with Betis last campaign, Lo Celso drew a lot of attention this summer, with multiple teams trying to secure his signature. Ultimately, Tottenham have apparently won the race for the Argentine youngster.
With Lo Celso's arrival, the Lillywhites made clear that Christian Eriksen won't be part of the team next season. Even though he was linked with Manchester United, it looks like he's heading to Madrid as an alternative to Paul Pogba.
Now we have to wait to see if the Spurs still want to land Dybala and Coutinho since those deals look very complicated to make at this moment.
