Colombian Legend Valderrama Bashes Zidane And Urges James Rodriguez To Leave Real Madrid

James Rodriguez' situation at Real Madrid looks more complicated by the day and even though Zinedine Zidane has agreed to give him another shot, it doesn't look like he'll have many minutes going forward.

Zidane isn't fond of James' talents but he was forced to keep him for - at least - six more months as they couldn't find him a new team and Napoli couldn't meet their financial expectations.

Still, Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama thinks it would be best for the 28-year-old if he just gave up on Real Madrid and leave to join another club.

“James? He should go to another team. The coach doesn’t want him and he won’t play if he stays in Real Madrid. He should leave, that’s just how it is. When James signed for Madrid the fans were excited and so was the president, but the coach just doesn’t want him. The problem here is that he is not going to play if he stays in Real Madrid. It would be better for him to leave, given that the coach is the one in charge of the starting lineup. Considering his skills he can play in every club," Valderrama told Blog Deportivo.

Rodriguez will have an opportunity to prove his worth at Santiago Bernabeu now that Marco Asensio will likely miss the entire season with an ACL injury.

However, he'll still have to compete with Isco, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vazquez, and even Vinicius Jr for every single minute of playing time.

Real Madrid tried to swap him for Paul Pogba but Manchester United weren't interested, but they're likely to try and move him again in the winter transfer window unless he convinces Zidane he can contribute to their winning cause.

James is very talented but has struggled with consistency and injuries throughout the last 3 years or so, but hopefully, he'll demonstrate his skills next year for Los Blancos.
