Juventus apparently have unfinished business before the closure of the summer transfer window and they are planning to bring at least one more player. Since they don’t have a clear candidate to make it to the Allianz Stadium, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly offered his help to the Bianconeri.
European clubs have until September 2 to add new players, and as the date gets closer, CR7 has urged his club to get some late deals over the line. According to Don Balon, the Portuguese star has asked the Old Lady to make a move for Barca’s Ivan Rakitic, with the club even preparing a €50 million offer for the Croatian as well.
The report also notes that Rakitic won’t arrive alone, as CR7 has also asked Juve to seal a deal to bring Mariano Diaz from Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s former club.
At this moment Juventus count with one of the strongest squads in world football, so one could say that signing these two players would be too much for the Old Lady. For instance, they are trying to get rid of midfielders given that they have too many and there is no room for everybody in the starting lineup.
Players like Pjanic, Ramsey, Can, Bentancur, Khedira, Matuidi and Rabiot are more than enough to the Serie A champions, so spending €50 million on Rakitic doesn’t sound like a good option for them.
In the attack zone, the club is stacked as well, with players like Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain to help CR7. Maybe if one of these three leaves the club before September 2, Mariano would become a more likely option for the Zebras.
It remains to be seen if they listen to Cristiano’s demands, but Juve are reportedly trying to save money and signing Rakitic and Diaz is not the best deal for them.
