When you take a look at Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, there aren't many areas of the squad that you could say that need to be reinforced. However, even great things can be better.

That's why former Liverpool player Phil Rabb thinks the team should look to strengthen their ranks by adding an extra center-back to pair with Virgil van Dijk due to the team's constant injuries:

“As a fan and a broadcaster I wonder where Klopp can improve the squad and I’d probably say they might want to look at bringing in another top center-half- That’s only because of the injury records of [Joe] Gomez, [Joel] Matip and Dejan Lovren. Virgil van Dijk is like a thoroughbred horse, very rarely gets injured, and if he could have another world-class center-half constantly alongside side him that would bolster Liverpool," Rabb told, as quoted by Goal.

The now broadcaster went on to elaborate his argument by claiming that he meant no disrespect to Joe Gomez, but that they could still look to add another player to anchor their defense: Kalidou Koulibaly

“I can’t see them doing that, but it might be in the back of their minds. I say this with a heavy heart because I’m a big fan of Joe Gomez – I have been since he was at Charlton when I was doing agency activity years ago. I started tracking him and was made up when he went to Liverpool. I’m not so sure they will go into the market again this month or even in the summer, but from my point of view, center-half is the only position that may need to be addressed. Can you imagine Virgil van Dijk and Kalidou Koulibaly together? That would be some center-half partnership," he concluded.

Koulibaly has been on Manchester United's radar for years now, but the Senegal international has constantly snubbed them in favor of staying with Napoli.

However, his ties with Sadio Mane could play a big role in a potential move to Liverpool. But whether the team would be interested in adding more players or not, that's yet to be seen.
