Frank Lampard's Chelsea has taken the world by surprise, as the team was served a transfer ban but is still competing for the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League thanks to the surge of their Academy graduates.
However, among all of their young players, it feels like Christian Pulisic has been a bit of a disappointment, as he's struggled with fitness and got off to a slow start of his spell at Chelsea.
The American is one of the most promising wingers in the world and was supposed to fill in Eden Hazard's shoes, but he's slowly finding his best shape. Therefore, Lampard is expecting way more from him going forward:
“(I expect) More, a lot more. I have just mentioned there about the conversion of chances. I think he gets himself in so many good positions with his talent and his dribbling ability that I think more goals will be the next stage of that.
I’m really pleased with him. I have asked a lot of him. He has played a lot of games recently, back to back, in a new league that we know is very physical for him. I am asking a lot, he has done very well. But I expect a lot more," Lampard told the press, as quoted by Metro.
Pulisic has scored 6 goals to go along with 6 assists in 20 caps for the Blues since joining the team from Borussia Dortmund, and while those numbers could be impressive for most players, everybody's expecting more from the young star.
Notably, the Blues have put together a promising squad going forward with Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount also leading the way offensively, so if Pulisic is able to keep up the pace and take a step forward, they'll be one of the deadliest teams in the world in no time.
