Internazionale Milan has started its summer plans already, with a reportedly ‘confirmed’ new manager in Antonio Conte. Luciano Spalletti didn’t have the best time at Giuseppe Meazza and now his departure is expected to be a reality in the coming days. Conte, whose last team was Chelsea, has put Romelu Lukaku as his top priority as soon as he takes over.
Luckily for him, the club has already gotten to work and are testing the waters of a possible negotiation for the Belgian striker. According to journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Internazionale is planning on offering cash (€30 million) plus former United’s target, Croatian Ivan Perisic, in a bid to land Lukaku. Romelu and Conte have been linked to each other before, as the Italian boss tried to sign him from Everton two seasons ago before the Belgian joined the Red Devils.
By offering €30 million plus Perisic, Inter would be setting Lukaku's valuation at around €65m, less than the initial amount (£75 million) that United paid to Everton back in 2017. This would be a great deal for Man. Utd. as their boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted Lukaku won’t be part of the team next season following the poor delivering from the striker this campaign and he could leave some good money with his departure.
In addition to Lukaku, Conte is also reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s Victor Moses, who is currently on loan with Turkish side Fenerbahce. Albeit the Nigerian was one of the most important players in the Blues staff when Conte was the helmsman, he lost his place in the team when Maurizio Sarri took over and now tries to find his older version in Turkey.
Lukaku has fallen to Marcus Rashford’s good season at Old Trafford and now a move out looks like the best option for the Belgian international, just like Moses did on January from Chelsea.
