It looks like the Krzysztof Piatek saga is close to coming to an end, but not the way most Real Madrid fans would’ve wanted.
Apparently, AC Milan stepped up in the race to land the Polish striker, leaving Los Blancos hanging on what was supposed to be their biggest transfer of this window.
Instead, Piatek would stay put at Serie A, switching sides from Genoa to try and help Gennaro Gattuso's struggling squad, currently sitting at the 5th spot of the table, trailing Juventus by 22 points.
The 23-year-old standout has netted 19 goals in 21 caps for Genoa this season, and he’s exactly the kind of dynamic forward that could finally bring back the scoring touch the Rossoneri have lacked for so long. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, AC Milan is keen to pay as much as 40 million € to land Europe’s biggest sensation to try and go back to continental domination.
