Arsenal and Leeds United are set to meet in the Emirates Stadium for the third round of the FA Cup. However, Macedonian winger Ezgjan Alioski isn't scared about their match vs. an English Premier League club.
That's why the Leeds United star took a major shot at the Gunners during their press conference, claiming they're not so special and they'll show them who they are once they meet:
"It’s a nice stadium, it’s a big club, but it’s not so special to go there because it’s Arsenal," the Macedonian said during the press conference, as quoted by Metro.
"You have some players who think like this, but it’s not enough to think 'Wow, it’s Arsenal', because we are also a good team and we want to show it. We need to go there with a lot of confidence like we always do and to play like we always do. Not to be scared to go there. I see the result versus Manchester United, but this United, even we can beat them. This is a cup, it’s different. The difference is that they’re [Arsenal] in the Premier League, we are in the Championship, and it’s nice to go there and show them who is Leeds. If we are in the Premier League, Leeds are going to be one of the biggest clubs, like I know they were before," Alioski concluded.
Marcelo Bielsa's team is working hard to get back to England's top-flight tournament, currently leading the Championship table after falling short of their goal last season.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have struggled all year long with inconsistencies but have also shown some glimpses of improvement under Mikel Arteta's brief tenure as manager.
Now, they must bring their A-Game vs. Leeds to prove Alioski wrong and get a breather amid one of the toughest seasons they've faced in recent history.
