Liverpool have been suspiciously quiet to start this transfer window, which means Jurgen Klopp could have a surprise in line for the defending UEFA Champions League champions.
The team has yet to make any big-name signings and their supporters are kind of worried they've settled for the squad they had last season, even despite the fact that they dominated throughout the entire campaign.
However, Dean Saunders, a former Liverpool legend, claims the team should make a run at one of the biggest stars of the English Premier League: Christian Eriksen, who's reportedly eyeing for a move out of Mauricio Pochettino's team in the summer:
"(They should) spend (their budget) it maybe… I think Eriksen could slot into Liverpool’s team; somebody like Eriksen. That type of player who will make their midfield a bit more productive," Saunders told TalkSPORT.
Eriksen has reportedly let the team know that he has no intention of signing a contract extension with them as he wants to face new challenges on his career, with Real Madrid, and Manchester United allegedly interested in his services.
As for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has already stated that he's satisfied with his squad and that the team doesn't need to spend 300 million a year like Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City in order to stay competitive.
Still, some rumors point towards them working on a move to get Philippe Coutinho back on loan from Barcelona, with the Brazilian struggling to adapt to La Liga and Antoine Griezmann's arrival making it more difficult for him to settle in Ernesto Valverde's starting XI.
Other than that, the Reds aren't expected to make any huge moves in the summer, although we can all agree that Eriksen would certainly make any team in the world significantly better, but he's unlikely to join the team that beat him in the UEFA Champions League final a couple of months ago.
