Liverpool continue their great pace to win the Premier League, as Jurgen Klopp and his side were ruthless against Southampton in Anfield. Although the Saints played well for the most part of their game, the Reds earned a 4-0 win and something more to feel proud of.

After they took the three points, it meant they ended the day 22 points ahead of their closest pursuers, Manchester City. This is the first time in English top-flight football history that there has been such a gap at the end of a match day.

Liverpool players and coaches often play down any records of such significance, since they’re only focused on one goal, and that’s the Premier League title.

Still, this monster that Klopp has created has shown no signs of slowing down, and it might not be the only all-time record that they set in 2019/20. For instance, Manchester City’s 100 points appeared to be the pinnacle that any team in England could ever reach, but at this pace, Liverpool may well beat that mark with ease.
