Even though he left Merseyside in not-so-good terms, Luis Suarez has always been attached to Liverpool, which is why his opinion always matters when it comes to the Reds.
He was asked about the Reds’ hopes to win the Premier League title once and for all next year.
The Uruguayan striker says he can't imagine his former team allowing their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table slips this season. They are having a terrific season so far, as they hunt for their first title since 1990, having narrowly missed out last season by a point to Manchester City.
Now, they are eight points away from their closer hunters, Leicester City, nine points up the road from City and already have 17 more points than fifth-placed Sheffield United. Suarez believes Jurgen Klopp's side is in a good position to win their first PL title and lift the trophy at the end of the season.
"[Winning the Premier League] is difficult because the season is very long," Suarez told ESPN FC. "But they have a nice advantage at the moment and with this current Liverpool side, it's complicated [to imagine] them letting that slip. But we all know how football is.
"They had a similar advantage at one stage last season and, in the end, Manchester City won the league.”
Suarez knows a thing or two about losing the chance to win the trophy, as he was part of the Merseysiders that were close to reaching glory during the 2012/13 campaign.
"We were close to winning the league at Liverpool with young players," Suarez said.
"We almost managed it without the budget they have today. Given everything Liverpool are now, to have won it then would have had more merit."
Liverpool have a great pace so far, so if they are consistent with their good moment, nobody will be able to steal the title from them.
