It’s not a secret that Barcelona are getting ready to see some of their biggest figures depart shortly. Luis Suarez is part of that list, as the Uruguayan striker isn’t getting any younger and has been linked with a move away from Catalonia on several occasions.
Barcelona reportedly have a list of candidates to replace Suarez, but now the veteran striker has praised three players who could take over from him at the Camp Nou. He will be 33 in January and has spoken openly about Barca's need to replace him in the coming seasons.
“There are a lot of good players coming through. There are strikers that I watch personally because I like watching football, some young ones and some not so young,” the attacker told OneFootball about forwards he likes at this moment.
“One is Abraham. He is the Chelsea No 9. He looks like a very good striker to me. He is very young but his movement is good and his finishing is very good.
“Another one I like is Maxi Gomez. Not just because he is Uruguayan but because he has so many of the qualities that a club looks for in a center-forward.
“And there is also Lautaro Martinez who is also showing what a fantastic level he has.”
Lucho named three promising players and Barcelona have actually been linked with Inter starlet Lautaro Martinez, who’s drawn attention from the best clubs in Europe.
Given that Suarez is praising him and the fact that Lio Messi has also expressed his desire to share touches with Martinez, Barca might have the advantage to sign the Argentinian striker.
If not, they still have two good options with Abraham and Gomez, who could serve the Blaugrana just fine.
