This season Olympique Lyonnais introduced some of the most interesting and talented youngsters in Ligue 1 in the names of Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele, with the latter becoming one of the most desired assets in European football at this very moment, following outstanding performances with Les Gones.
For several months now there have been plenty of rumors surrounding Ndombele’s future and the place where the midfielder will be playing next season. Moreover, the club’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed he already received three formal offers for the talented youngster while stating that conversations with Paris Saint-Germain have begun, as well.
Tanguy has aroused interest from the best teams in Europe month after month and now his departure from Groupama Stadiums seems imminent. Three of the biggest forces in English football have already handed a proposal to acquire Ndombele’s services; both Manchester City and United as well as Tottenham in more recent times. Nevertheless, Lyon chairman Aulas has said he would prefer his starlet to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.
"I am negotiating with the biggest European clubs for Ndombélé," he told L'Équipe. "I'm the one who revived the PSG talks so that they don't feel dismissed.
"I told myself that it was the time to speak to PSG because PSG would win more by operating with French clubs. If PSG aligns with the three offers received and Tanguy agrees, obviously it would be nice if he goes there."
Once again Lyon secured a Champions League participation next season, as they earned a place in the qualifying stages following a 4-0 victory over Caen last weekend, with Tanguy having a huge role in the midfield for Lyon, shining in his position alongside Aouar and Nabil Fekir, two other players who appear to be leaving the club in the near future.
