It looks like Carlo Ancelotti is trying to put his hands around James Rodriguez for the third time on his career, after already bringing the most of him in Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen.
James has always been at his best under Ancelotti's command, and now that the Italian boss is trying to strengthen the ranks at Napoli, the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed their interest in the Colombian, even though he admitted that he was kind of skeptic at first.
"James Rodriguez is Ancelotti’s wish. I don’t know if we need him 100 percent, but his talent isn’t in doubt. I must help my coach. He wants James and I won’t bat an eyelid, even if he’s very expensive," De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss.
However, the Serie A runner ups are well aware of the fact that James won't come at a fair price, even despite the fact that Zinedine Zidane has never been fond of his talents and isn't counting with him for the future
That's why, according to De Laurentiis himself, the team has already eyed Mexican superstar Chucky Lozano in case negotiations for James reach a dead end with Los Blancos:
"If James doesn’t go through with Jorge Mendes, we’ll go forward with Mino Raiola about the possibility of taking Lozano," the chairman added.
Napoli's been trying to get their hands on top-tier talents for quite some time now in order to finally take down Juventus as the undisputed leaders of the Italian Serie A, and James' addition would definitely help them take a step forward, at least offensively.
The Colombian playmaker is currently on international duty in the Copa America, pulling the strings of their offense as one of the most prolific creative midfielders in the world, and hopefully, he'll be able to get his career back on track under Ancelotti's tutelage.
