Neymar Tells Paris Saint-Germain He Wants To Leave As Barcelona Push Players-Plus-Cash Offer

The Neymar saga is far from finished right now, as the Brazilian remains eager to leave Paris Saint-Germain and go back to Barcelona. Over the last few weeks, Ney has been the subject of several rumors, but so far nothing has happened with the forward.

However, it was reported that the 27-year-old has reiterated his desire to leave PSG this summer, as he met with Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo on Monday after returning from his holiday. Barcelona is seen as the most plausible destination for the Brazilian, who failed to report for PSG's first pre-season training session as he was still on vacation.

He landed in Paris on Monday and didn’t hesitate to look for Leonardo, the team’s sporting director, to display his desire to leave the club this summer. ESPN claim that Neymar made it clear that he wants to leave Paris, before missing training to work alone in the gym.

RMC Sport add that the meeting was 'icy' and lasted just a couple of minutes, with both parties uncomfortable dealing with each other. Leonardo explained to Neymar that he will be punished for failing to show up to pre-season training, which the winger replied explaining his desire to leave the French capital this summer, although he did not specify that he wanted to go to Catalonia.

It’s been reported that Les Parisiens would probably accept an offer of around €222 million for Ney, the exact amount they paid in 2017 to relocate the Brazilian, something unlikely for Barcelona, who recently disbursed €120 million to sign French forward Antoine Griezmann.

AS claim that the Blaugrana are keen on a player-plus-cash swap deal to get Neymar back to the Camp Nou, and they made a huge offer involving Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho and €40 million to try to persuade PSG to part ways with the Brazilian. However, PSG didn’t even bother to consider the offer, as they’re looking to get more than €40 million upfront to let Neymar go.

Now, this is a situation more complex than it initially was at the beginning of the summer transfer window. Both Neymar and Barcelona want to reunite this summer, but PSG has different plans. The only thing we have to do is wait and see how this whole situation ends.
