Even though Manchester United aren’t going through the best moment right now, the Red Devils are recovering their confidence, even winning important matches like the derby of Manchester.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants his team to keep things that way and have sent a message to their archrivals, Liverpool, after his side were drawn against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Red Devils will take on City over two legs trying to earn a spot in this year’s final, with Solskjaer looking forward to two electrifying matches. Moreover, he took the chance to aim a dig at Liverpool, as he stated he still thinks City are the best team in the country.
“It will be two fantastic days in Manchester. We really respect them and they are still the best team in England,” the Norwegian was quoted by the Express.
“We need to get our game heads on and be ready, but we have already shown them this season that we can cause them problems.
“We want to win every trophy we can and we have a chance.”
That’s an interesting remark as Liverpool sits atop of Premier League standings, with a whopping 14 points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions.
