Manchester United’s star Paul Pogba has made a final decision over his future with the Premier League giants amid links with Real Madrid. Pogba has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with Madrid and Juventus thought to be their favorite to win his signature this offseason.
Nevertheless, United’s high asking price as part of their reluctance to part ways with the midfielder has made negotiations very complicated for Italians and Spanish. Even though is highly unlikely to see Pogba making his way to Madrid or Turin this summer, next year is going to be different for both teams.
Pogba will reject the chance to sign a contract extension at Old Trafford as he waits for a move to Real Madrid. According to Marca, he has made a final decision on his future amid ongoing links with Los Blancos, set to push through a switch to La Liga next year.
The Spanish publication states that the 26-year-old won’t sign a new deal at Old Trafford, with his existing contract set to expire in 2021. At this moment, it’s very difficult to see Pogba joining Madrid, but he could follow Eden Hazard’s footsteps. The Belgian forward refused to sign a new contract with Chelsea last year, before finally negotiating his way out of the club earlier this summer.
That’s a tactic that Pogba could use next summer, as Manchester has made it clear that the Frenchman won’t leave the club this transfer window. Losing Pogba will be a major hit for United, but the former Juventus midfielder is set to pursue bigger challenges and Madrid appear to be the best option for him.
