Real Madrid’s former sporting director Pedja Mijatovic would like to see Neymar playing with Los Blancos this season. The Brazilian winger has seen how his popularity among Paris Saint-Germain fans have vanished and now is set to leave the club amid interest from Barcelona and Madrid.
Ney has made it clear that he wants to leave the club this summer, with Barcelona thought to be his preferred destination. Nevertheless, Real are also in the race to secure his signature this offseason, and now Mijatovic has shown his excitement about a potential arrival of the 27-year-old.
"I would love to see Neymar at Real Madrid. Because he's one of my favorite players,” Mijatovic told Goal.
“I am sure he will bring to Real Madrid qualities that the team doesn't have. And it would certainly help them to be a serious contender, not only to compete with Barca and Atletico in [La] Liga but also to aim for the Champions League title.
“Yes, he must come to Madrid."
Real are trying to find a solution to this situation and persuade PSG to let Neymar go. After having spent a lot of money during the summer, they don’t have the biggest budget of all to pursue the Brazilian star, even less for the €220 million Les Parisiens ask.
However, now reports suggest that the Ligue 1 side would be willing to sell Neymar if Madrid propose a swap deal involving Vinicius Jr., but it remains to be seen if Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane will part ways with one of the most promising youngsters in the world right now.
Barcelona are thought to be the frontrunners to sign Neymar, but their situation is similar to Madrid, with PSG demanding Ousmane Dembele and Nelson Semedo as an exchange for the former Santos star.
