Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hit back at Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke as the pair have engaged in a war of words in recent hours. As per Metro, the Dortmund chief took a jab at the Gabon international this week by suggesting that he secured a move to Arsenal due to financial motivations.
“Aubameyang, who plays great at Arsenal, will probably be warm-hearted when he looks at his bank account, but on Wednesdays, will be saddened when he has to watch the Champions League on television,” he told Suddeutsche Zeitung.
This is odd seeing all the water that has gone under the bridge since Aubameyang decided to leave Dortmund and both parties looked like they were over any dispute or disappointment that could lead to this decision.
Now, the striker has decided to hit back, calling Watzke a ‘clown’, accusing him of cashing in on Ousmane Dembele by letting him go to Barcelona instead of keeping hold of a great talent.
“Better for you I never talk about why I really left Dortmund Mr Watzke you such a clown I remember that time you said we never gonna sell Ousmane then you saw more than 100M you were the first to take that money. don’t talk about money please!!! Leave me alone pls,” Aubameyang wrote on Twitter.
This is indeed a shocking event and something completely unnecessary from both parties. Still, the Gabonese will surely have more things to say or do on this matter. It won’t be a shock if he sends a message to Watzke in Arsenal’s upcoming games.
