Real Madrid Desperate To Sell James Rodriguez To Gather Money For Summer Target

James Rodriguez

It looks like Florentino Perez is keen to sell James Rodriguez in the summer to gather some cash to finally complete a huge signing in this upcoming summer transfer window.

James Rodriguez wasn't featured in Bayern Munchen's 5-0 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund last weekend, and speculation points towards the Bavarians already being ready to move on from the Colombian playmaker.

That means James would have to go back to Real Madrid in the summer, but Zinedine Zidane is reluctant to give the Colombian another shot and wouldn't mind letting him go elsewhere to make run for another Galactico.

In the meantime, Florentino Perez is working overtime to try and get Chelsea to agree on a deal for Eden Hazard, the team's top priority for this upcoming transfer window.

According to AS, Perez is eager to find a new home for James and Mateo Kovacic (who's currently on loan at Chelsea) to gather enough money to make a run at the Belgian.

However, it's still unclear whether Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea would agree to sign James and Kovacic on full-time deals while letting go of their best player.

While Kovacic has excelled all year long for the Blues, the Colombian is far from the standout player Real Madrid signed following the 2014 World Cup, as his proneness to get hurt and lack of playing time have really hurt his development.

Either way, the leftie is one of the most talented playmakers in Europe when healthy, and the Premier League would definitely suit his style the same way it helped players of the likes of Kevin de Bruyne or Phillipe Coutinho bring the best out of their game.

As for Hazard, the Belgian has repeatedly flirted with Zidane and Real Madrid, and with his contract extension talks pretty much reaching a dead-end, it's just a matter of time before we see him dressed in white.
