Vinicius Jr And Zidane Held Talks About His Future With Real Madrid

Life hasn't been easy for Vinicius Jr since completing his move from Flamengo to Real Madrid ahead of the 2018-19 season, where he had some ups and downs under Santiago Solari and Zinedine Zidane.

The Brazilian has shown glimpses of great talent and work ethic but fell down with an injury right when he had established himself as the team's starting winger.

So now, despite being a part of Zidane's rotation, he's struggled to start again for Los Blancos, raising several questions about his longterm fit with the club.

Vinicius, however, went on to dismiss any rumors of discomfort and claimed Zidane guaranteed him that he can have a long and successful career with Real Madrid:

"Zidane always tells me to be relaxed and to keep growing because if I do so, and because I am so well treated by everybody, he says I'll be playing there for a long time. Much like Marcelo and Casemiro, who have been there for a long time," he told the media during a press conference, as quoted by Sport.

Moreover, the 19-year-old has been asked to play on the right side under Zidane, rather than his preferred left-wing, and hasn't looked as sharp ever since. Still, he claims he's okay with that and that he must be capable of playing anywhere on the field:

"When I was playing youth football, I did this a little and now I've come to play on the right at Real Madrid. I think it's important for me and for my career so that I can play well on both sides. Of course, I find the right side more difficult as I'm not so used to playing like this, but I'm trying to improve day by day, at each training session with Real Madrid," he added.

Vinicius has a lot of tools to become a disruptive winger for Real Madrid and is still pretty young, and the fact that they refused to include him in any deal for Neymar says a lot about their hopes for him going forward.

He still has a lot of work to do, especially when it comes to finishing, but he's proven to be patient and a hard-working young man, so hopefully, he'll turn things around pretty soon.
