Real Madrid To Sign French Superstar This Week, Confirms Didier Deschamps

French boss Didier Deschamp has confirmed one of the most commented moves this offseason, regarding Real Madrid with one of the most prominent French players in recent years. Deschamp has confirmed Ferland Mendy will be joining Real Madrid this summer.
Mendy has been linked with a move to Madrid after Los Blancos’ poor displays in 2018/19 and, speaking at to the press on Monday, Deschamps said that a €50 million transfer has been agreed between the Ligue 1 club and Real.

"Ferland has a spectacular growth, he was in Ligue 2 two years ago and he will be at Real Madrid (next year). He has both feet, with us he has been good every time he had to play," Deschamps claimed (as quoted by Goal).

We haven’t seen any confirmation from Real Madrid or Lyon so far about this move, but everything points out it’s only a matter of time before we find out where will Mendy go this summer. Real Madrid already confirmed the signings of Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard last week, and now Mendy can be joining them.

He has come a long way since he was playing second-division football just two years ago with Le Havre. He joined Lyon in 2017 and now is about to make the biggest move of his career when he joins the most important club in the world. Right now Mendy is considered one of the best young left-backs in world football, although he can also operate in midfield.

Plus, he has shown his world at an international level, becoming a vital part of Deschamps’ France squad, despite competing with the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Lucas Digne and Lucas Hernandez for a left-back berth en route to what might as well be another World Cup run for the defending Champions a couple of years from now.
