According to most reports, Real Madrid and Flamengo have already agreed on terms over the signing of Reinier Jesus, one of the most talented forwards we've seen come out of their academy in recent years.
Los Blancos will sign him once he turns 18 on January 19, after agreeing to pay his 30 million euros release clause the last couple of days.
And while that sum may sound like a lot for an unproven player, former Atletico de Madrid full-back and Flamengo star Filipe Luis claims Real Madrid will get a player with superstar potential that could be even 'better than Kaka':
"I remember Kaka because he played with his head up, and he was lethal in the area. Reinier has even more quality than Kaka with his back to goal. Time will tell whether or not he is like Kaka," the Brazilian told Marca.
Reinier didn't have many first-team minutes during Flamengo's historic Brasileirao and Copa Libertadores run, but he showed glimpses of greatness as both a playmaker and finisher during his brief tenure with the team. However, Filipe Luis thinks he still must work on his game to fulfill his potential:
"He has surprised me at 17 in that he always chooses the correct option. When he has to pass, he passes, he plays with his head up. It really is a great signing, I congratulate Real Madrid. He isn't 100 percent ready. He is 17 years old, but has potential and a great future. Nobody is ever ready for a leap so vast at that age, but in the future, he will be a great signing," he concluded.
With this signing, Real Madrid would have their third young Brazilian with superstar potential after already signing Rodrygo and Vinicius earlier in the past, so it'd be interesting to see whether the three of them can coexist and lead the team to success for years to come.
