Bayern Munchen has completely ruled over Germany over the last decade, but they haven’t been able to replicate such success overseas on a consistent basis, maybe due to the lack of competition in Bundesliga.
Even so, it looks like Borussia Dortmund is finally ready to put an end on Bayern’s domination, so they may try and scramble in the market to find a player or two to go back to being the kings of Germany.
Still, reinforcing an already scary squad is no easy task by all means, and they’d have to pick quite carefully the guys that may come along. But, who could and should they pursue? Let’s break it down.
5. Joao Felix
Joao Felix is Portugal’s newest sensation. At 19 years old, he’s already netted 5 scores and two assists in just 11 caps for Benfica. He can play at the center of the pitch or just behind the striker as a playmaker, showing vast versatility for his age.
Manchester United is already trying to get Joao Felix out of Benfica, but Bayern Munchen would be a much better destination for the wonderkid given United’s crowded midfield as of today.
4. Lucas Hernandez
Lucas Hernandez is yet another great center back discovered by Cholo Simeone, and with Matt Hummels not getting any younger, bringing some young blood on board wouldn’t be the worst idea.
The Frenchman is still quite young, but he ’s quite an experienced defender. He doesn’t tend to make mistakes and is surgical when tackling. Also, he’s great at aerial duels when finishing from set pieces.
3. Kai Havertz
Bayern Munchen has made a living out of snubbing players from Schalke, Dortmund, and Leverkusen, and Kai Havertz might as well be their latest steal, should they pay his 60 million asking price.
Havertz is just 19 years old but is already turning a lot of heads. He’s quite a mobile midfielder that can cover several spots in the pitch, and has a great feel for goal scoring and creating chances.
2. Timo Werner
Bayern Munchen has already lost Sandro Wagner so they’re a bit short-handed when it comes to strikers, so, them always signing the best German players in Bundesliga, I cannot believe they haven’t signed Timo Werner already.
Werner reminds us of a faster Miroslav Klose. He can finish with both feet, is great at aerial duels, and is just 22 years old. He’s also on Real Madrid’s and Liverpool’s radar, so they'd have to be quite aggressive, though.
Isco was linked with a move to Bayern Munchen a couple of years ago, so why not make the most of him wanting out of Real Madrid because of Santiago Solari? They know for a fact what he’s capable of.
Isco is great at creating space and setting his teammates up, he sets the pace of the game and covers a lot of ground on the pitch. He’s a perfect fit for Bayern Munchen as he could play behind the striker or on either flank of the pitch.
