Tottenham Hotspur have had a complex couple of hours in which they parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, only to announce Jose Mourinho as their new head coach a few hours later.
Mourinho is one of the most honored managers in football, but some fans aren’t happy with this decision, and some players, either.
Poch is a very different manager than Mourinho, as he tends to favor the development of young players, something that’s hard to see with the so-called ‘Special One’. That could be bad news for some players on Spurs roster, with some already showing their discomfort with this appointment.
For instance, Tottenham starlet Troy Parrot has hinted he’s not happy about the move and was spotted liking a tweet urging him to leave the club for Manchester United after Mourinho’s arrival. It’s worth noting that Parrot quickly unliked the tweet, but that’s not a good signal from a Tottenham point of view.
Just like Parrot, many of the club’s young players may well fear they will no longer get a place into the first-team or the chance to develop as they did before while Poch was the helmsman. Still, the Irish starlet is a great prospect and has recently caught the attention of big clubs, including the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Mou could still have a good job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but his tenure with the Lillywhites have made a mixed start.
