Internazionale Milan are trying to make their way back to the top, both in Italy and abroad, at any cost and the Italian giants might be taking the right steps to achieve their goal. After they announced Antonio Conte as their new boss, the Nerazzurri have gotten to work on their signings and things look bright for them ahead of next season.
They have been linked with Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, but now it looks like they are ready to raise the bet and try to lure one of the most interesting young players in European football right now. However, that won’t be an easy job to carry out since they face competition from some of the biggest clubs in the continent.
Inter have reportedly placed a bid for Ligue 1 standout Nicolas Pepe as they intend to beat both Liverpool and Manchester United to the 24-year-old's signature. Following a marvelous season in France with OSC Lille, Pepe has drawn attention from several big clubs across Europe, with some of them eager to acquire his services this offseason.
According to L'Equipe, Inter are looking to convince Lille to hand Pepe over with a bid of around £80 million, although TF1 claim that the bid is actually closer to the £67-million mark. Pepe’s side hasn’t started receiving offers for the winger yet, so that could be a chance to any other team to place a bid for him. Added to the aforementioned Premier League clubs, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich have also shown their interest in the Ivorian player.
Albeit he’s reportedly favoring a move to Germany, some say that Liverpool and Man. Utd. are the favorite to win his signature. Jurgen Klopp has always been a fan of Pepe and adding him to his already stacked offensive would make the Reds an instant favorite to win every competition they play. If he goes to United, though, Pepe will certainly improve the level of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team by creating a very good duo with Nicolas and Marcus Rashford.
This past season Pepe racked up 22 goals and 11 assists in 38 Ligue 1 appearances, so no wonder why everybody is so desperate to purchase him. Inter can pull off a huge steal if they manage to buy this guy before the start of the next season.
