Transfer News: Juventus Approach Two Huge Stars Trying To Fight Off Rival Bidders

It’s not a secret that Juventus have been changing their transfer policy in recent years. Football is a business and nowadays most of the time you have to pay big in order to have a competitive team. We saw the Old Lady spending big money in players like Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent years, a practice that looks more appealing to the team, that is aiming to do the same this summer, trying to sign two huge stars.

Juve have been linked with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, and according to recent reports, the Italian side might be closer than we think to get these two assets. They have been moving quietly in the last few weeks and now they look ready to surprise everybody.

Juventus are interested in re-signing Paul Pogba this summer and have already contacted the player’s representatives. Pogba has been linked with several teams in the last months and even though Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown their interest in the Frenchman, now a move back to Italy doesn’t sound like a bad option to him.

Sky Sports report that Juve, who sold Pogba to United for a then world record fee of €105 million three years ago, are now interested in bringing him back to Turin. It’s said that the team already made contact with Paul’s agent Mino Raiola and that United know about those talks.

After four years in Juventus, Pogba joined Man. Utd. back in 2016 and after three seasons with ups and downs in England, the World Cup winner looks set to take his talents somewhere else, with Real Madrid being thought as the favorite side to land Pogba; nevertheless, Juventus now appear as a very plausible destination for the French.

In addition, the team already launched a bid for Dutch wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt, who has been followed by every major team in Europe. He was great with Ajax this season, becoming one of the most wanted players across the continent. Juventus will intend to make a surprising move and steal de Ligt from the favorite club to sign him, Barcelona.

Daily Mail claim (via Tuttosport) that Juve have already joined the race for the center-back by launching a massive £75 million bid for the Dutch international. Matthijs is expected to follow Ajax’s teammate Frenkie de Jong to Catalonia, but now with Juventus showing how serious they are about him, maybe not everything is said for the defender.

The current Serie A champions are entering a new era after Massimiliano Allegri decided to step down as the team’s boss and they are planning on making a lot of noise in the summer; de Ligt can be the perfect player for that alongside the mentioned Paul Pogba. Good thing for Juventus is that both players share the same agent in Mino Raiola, so that can facilitate things for the Zebras.
