Manchester United keep moving and moving ahead of the summer transfer window deadline in England. The Red Devils have been very active in recent days, trying to complete the deals they need to go back to being a successful and consistent team like they were until Sir Alex Ferguson decided to step down as the club’s boss.
They are about to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus in a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku. Harry Maguire is also on his way to Old Trafford from Leicester and now they are set to land one of the best midfielders in Europe in the last season.
It’s not a secret that United were interested in signing Portuguese Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, and they are reportedly close to complete a move for him.
According to journalist Nico Schira, Fernandes will join the Premier League giants after the Portuguese Super Cup clash against Benfica. He was a top target for Manchester, and last week Corriere dello Sport reported that a fee of €70 million was agreed to bring the Portugal international to Old Trafford.
Fernandes was also linked with Tottenham and Real Madrid, but Manchester have won the race to sign one of the most exciting players in his position over the last year.
La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Schira said that Fernandes will join Manchester United after his last game with Sporting, against Benfica. The 24-year-old will sign a contract with United that’ll see him earn €6 million a year plus bonuses.
After having a terrific 18/19 season with Sporting, scoring 32 goals and providing 18 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions, Fernandes was one of the most coveted players this summer. All that interest increased after he helped Portugal win the Nations League and was included in the Team of the Tournament.
There is no doubt that next season is looking very good for Manchester; if they manage to complete a deal for Bruno, Dybala, and Maguire, this team is going to be really dangerous in England and overseas.
