Contrary to what many might think, the Paul Pogba saga is still alive and without a foreseeable ending. Even though the summer transfer window will close this Thursday in England, that doesn’t mean we can’t see Pogba making his way out of Manchester after that.
But, the Red Devils remain reluctant to let the midfielder go, even more, if Real Madrid are the ones making an offer. According to Sky Sports, United just rejected a player-plus-cash offer from Los Blancos last week, which included James Rodriguez.
Pogba stated in June that he was ready to face a ‘new challenge’ after three seasons in Old Trafford, with his agent Mino Raiola revealing that he’s ready to leave the club this summer.
Madrid don’t have enough funds to afford Pogba, therefore their best option to persuade Man. Utd. to part ways with the Frenchman are these swap deals. They first tried with Gareth Bale and now with Rodriguez, but United rejected both offers.
Reports from Italy suggested that the World Cup winner would favor a move to Juventus, but Sky claims that Manchester are keen to retain Pogba for at least another season.
Moreover, it looks like Juventus are going to use the same method as Madrid, but they will offer more than one player for the midfielder. Tuttosport reports that Juve are prepared to offer Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Blaise Matuidi to Manchester United in exchange for Pogba.
Dybala and Mandzukic were thought to be making their way to Old Trafford as part of a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku, but those rumors have vanished now.
United are reluctant to sell Pogba, but that doesn’t seem to be a big problem for both Madrid and Juventus, who look set to lure the midfielder at any cost.
