Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made a decision about Neymar and his future with the club. The Brazilian’s current deal expires in June 2022 and the Ligue 1 champions do not believe there is a rush to extend it right now.
According to Sport, Les Parisiens will not offer Neymar a new deal as they believe he is already leaving. The 27-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Paris which has greatly cooled the relationship between both parties, with Barcelona apparently keen to re-sign the Brazil international.
They are so serious that sports director Leonardo insisted he will not devote any effort to renew Neymar's contract. PSG will also have a greater margin to renew other team members like Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe, their biggest priority for next summer.
Right now Neymar earns £537,000 a week after tax so will free up funds elsewhere should he leave in the summer. The forward turned down a contract offer from his club in recent times and that appears to be the last one he’ll be offered.
Furthermore, it was reported that Ney could pay £17 million out of his own pocket to seal a sensational move back to Barcelona next summer.
This was one of the biggest sagas last summer, but right now things look easier for PSG and Barcelona, who look closer to put their hands on Neymar once again.
