Everybody's talking about Antoine Griezmann right now, as even though the talented winger openly admitted his desire to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer, there's nothing clear about his future right now.
Griezmann was reportedly a top target for Manchester United, but there hasn't been a formal offer for his services as of yet, while FC Barcelona have reportedly pulled the breaks on a summer move for the Frenchman.
So, Enrique Cerezo, the man in charge of Atletico Madrid, opened up about Griezmann's hypothetical departure during an interview with Spanish radio show Onda Cero, claiming he doesn't have the slightest idea of where Griezmann will end up a couple of months from now:
"I don't know where he's going, he didn't say. I don't have the slightest idea where he will go. I don't think anyone knows. No one from Barca has contacted me," Cerezo told Onda Cero.
Griezmann has been facing a lot of hate from Atletico Madrid supporters, as they believe like he's a traitor for wanting to move out of the team, especially if he winds up joining Barcelona, one of their biggest rivals during the Cholo Simeone era.
Cerezo, however, had nothing but praise and high words for the World Cup winner and didn't hesitate to wish him the best of lucks for the future, even if he chooses a different path out of Wanda Metropolitano:
"Griezmann has been with for five years and done a splendid job. We have a good relationship. Nice, trustworthy. I hope wherever he goes he will be treated the same as he has been with us," he added.
Barcelona came pretty close to signing him before the start of this season, but, according to the latest reports, Lionel Messi and some of the team's most prominent players aren't exactly fond of him and would rather the club pursue Neymar Jr instead.
