Italian giants Milan might be preparing to spend huge money this summer transfer window. They have been linked with moves for some interesting players that will certainly enhance their level once they arrive in San Siro.
Not only they are linked with Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, but now they are looking to steal another player from another Premier League side, Liverpool. Albeit Nabil Fekir isn’t part of the Reds right now, many people expected the Olympique Lyonnais star to make his way to Anfield last summer and for some time, this one as well, but now Milan have appeared with different plans to steal the attacking midfielder/forward out of Jurgen Klopp’s hands.
According to France Football (via Get French Football News), Milan have made inquiries about Fekir's availability this summer and Lyon have reportedly told the seven-time Champions League winners that he is available with a fee between €35 million and €40 million.
This comes as a total surprise knowing that Les Gones had no intention to lower the €70-million price tag when Liverpool were interested. Lyon could now allow Fekir to leave Ligue 1 for half that price this summer.
Of course, with Fekir having only one year left in his current contract, the French outfit won’t like to see him go next season for free, and if Nabil decides not to extend his deal with Lyon, they have already decided an asking price for him.
Fekir had another fruitful season at Groupama Stadium where he scored 12 goals and assisted a further nine in all competitions; turning a lot of heads to him from some of the best clubs in European football. Milan is going through yet another rebuilding summer and they know they have to sign good players in order to relive the old glories.
They have a new manager in Marco Giampaolo, they have Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban taking directive roles, so Milan are very aware that they need to bring quality to the team if they want to actually compete at a national and international level and signing Nabil Fekir would be a great start for them.
