Alexis Sanchez might be leaving Manchester United this summer to return to Italy. According to reports from the Boot, the Chilean attacker is edging closer to a move to Internazionale.
Sanchez, 30, has struggled to find a good form with Manchester United ever since he made it from Arsenal in January 2018. He’s been negotiating with the Serie A giants over a season-long loan deal from Old Trafford, which looks closer now.
According to several Italian outlets including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport (via Football Italia), the transfer is near with clubs likely to agree on the terms of the deal on Monday. The reports indicate that both clubs are working on completing a move after increasing the salary figure to £4.2 million.
Inter will start the season against Leece on Monday night and is expected that Alexis will be in attendance before undergoing a medical the next day.
The deal is believed to have an option for Inter to make the move permanent next summer; if the Nerazzurri decide to land Sanchez permanently, the price to pay is believed to be set at under £15 million.
Before Arsenal, it’s fair to say that Sanchez lived the best moments of his career in Italy, during his days with Udinese. Although he’s not the same player he used to be with the Bianconeri, Alexis can bring a lot of meaningful things to the Giuseppe Meazza, trying to help Antonio Conte and his team to be the dangerous side they were until the beginning of this decade.
