Barcelona have been very ambitious with their targets in recent times. It’s well known their interest in re-signing Neymar Jr. from Paris Saint-Germain, but according to recent reports, that couldn’t be the end for the Blaugrana.
In fact, an internal debate is growing in the Camp Nou about whether Kylian Mbappe or Neymar is the better choice for their next high-profile transfer. As stated before, the La Liga champions were heavily linked with Neymar over the summer, but after several offers were rejected by Les Parisiens, the Brazilian stayed in the French capital.
This situation has opened more options for Barcelona, who now are interested in Kylian Mbappe. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club’s board is debating their next move in the transfer market, with officials still split over Neymar's viability.
It’s said that some of the executives that didn’t see bringing the Brazilian back have as a good option, have now turned their attention to PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe, who is considered a better option considering his greater goalscoring capabilities and potential. Also, there are concerns about Neymar and his attitude, which played a major role in his exit from the club.
All these things were discussed over the summer, with execs claiming bringing Neymar back was not the best option for the club. With Lionel Messi also pushing for a move for Ney, things look more complicated for the Catalans.
However, the Spanish giants are starting to see a move for Mbappe with good eyes, and nobody will criticize them for signing one of the most promising players in the world right now. Mbappe has also been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City; Barca need to move fast if they want to strike a deal for the World Cup winner.
