Barcelona are ready to find a replacement for Luis Suarez and their guy might be in Italy right now. According to reports, the Blaugrana have made Lautaro Martinez their No. 1 target to take over from Suarez at the Camp Nou.
Internazionale, though, are not keen to lose the talented striker, who has done great since moving to Italy in July 2018 and plan to open contract negotiations to raise or remove his current release clause. However, the Spanish giants are keen to bring him in and could take advantage of his current clause, which is well below his actual market value of around €100 million (£86m).
According to Calcio Mercato, the La Liga champions believe Lautaro is the ideal man to replace Suarez, who is 32 and could be entering the final years of his career. So far Martinez has scored 10 goals in his 35 league appearances for Inter and has two in eight European matches. One of those was precisely against Barcelona during the second matchday of the Champions League.
Back in July, Lautaro’s agent Alberto Yaque told Argentinian newspaper Ole that Barcelona's interest was real.
“Talk of Barcelona's interest is true,” he said. “No one's called us, but we know that they've been looking at him strongly. It's true that Barcelona like him.”
Barcelona need to make some changes in the attack and this guy could bring a lot of good things to the Camp Nou. Mundo Deportivo claim that Yaque has been cited by Inter over the release clause in his client’s contract, which could make the Nerazzurri receive up to €200 million if they approve an exit for the Argentinian striker.
