Transfer Rumors: Barcelona ‘Open Talks’ To Sign Valencia Star Amid Roma Interest

In recent weeks Barcelona have been looking to sign a new striker who can accompany Luis Suarez or can split participations with the Uruguayan striker and the search appears to be coming to its end. In recent days the Blaugrana have been linked with one of the most talented strikers the La Liga had this season and a move to Catalonia looks very possible right now.

The team has been linked with Valencia star Rodrigo Moreno who has had a great season with the Bats, earning the attention of several clubs across the continent. Perhaps this is not something Barcelona have to be concerned about, but the Catalonians will probably face some competition from overseas, as Italian side Roma have also shown their interest in the Spanish international.

In the last couple of seasons, Rodrigo has been linked with several teams both in Spain and abroad after scoring 34 goals in 95 games.

This summer, though, his next destination could be a Spanish team, as well. Sport claim that Moreno is near to the top of Barcelona’s wishlist and that the club’s directives have started the talks to negotiate a deal for the striker and the chances of doing so have increased considerably in recent days.

Barcelona and Valencia have had a very good relationship in recent years seeing the players that have gone from one team to the other. For instance, Paco Alcacer, Jeison Murillo and Andre Gomes have all made the switch to Camp Nou from Valencia and the Catalans are planning on using that in their favor.

With that being said, now the only obstacle between Barca and their desired asset is the €120 million release clause he has in his contract, but Barcelona can make good use of Valencia’s interest in Jasper Cillessen and Denis Suarez and propose an appealing deal that satisfies both teams.

Moreover, Rodrigo is reportedly eager to join the current the La Liga holders, but his position in the team remains unclear. He knows he won’t go there and be the first option for the center-forward role, but having action time and not the same fate as his former teammate Paco Alcacer is the priority to him.
