With Real Madrid almost done with their rebuilding plans for this summer, now it’s the turn of their archrival Barcelona, who will try to make a huge splash in the transfer market this offseason no matter the price. The Blaugrana know last season didn’t go as expected and they are keen to bounce back next year and win everything they can.
This is why the team has no qualms to offer various players to different teams in order to fund enough money to afford two of their top targets ahead of next season. Several reports indicate that Barcelona will offer at least three players trying to land Antoine Griezmann and Neymar Jr., in which surely be a very busy transfer window.
Neymar has stated his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and with the situation he’s currently living both inside and outside the pitch, it’s not a shock that the Brazilian forward feels like that with his current club. Albeit PSG has stated over and over that they don’t have any interest in selling the Brazilian star, perhaps Barcelona have the right assets to change their minds.
Marca report that the French side would demand at least €220 million to sell Neymar, but, if the Spaniards’ offer includes some players, they could be tempted to drop that asking price, and Globo Esporte claim that the Blaugrana have just done that. According to the report, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has already begun negotiations with the Parisians, and their offer is thought to be around €100 million, with probably all three of Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, and Ousmane Dembele.
Besides, reports from England suggest that Dembele has been offered to the newly-crowned Champions League champions Liverpool in an attempt to sign any of Neymar, Antoine Griezmann or even Matthijs de Ligt. TEAMtalk claim that intermediaries working on behalf of Barcelona have given Liverpool the green light to pursue a deal for the French attacker.
Dembele has been followed, and admired, for Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp and he would be the perfect piece the German boss needs to boost his attack and take his team to win the longed-for Premier League title once and for all.
Umtiti, Rakitic and Dembele have been linked with a move away from Camp Nou for quite some time now, so the club can use that in their advantage and get rid of three players who aren’t part of their plans while getting some money to complete the sign of one of their top targets this summer. They have big plans for this summer, and if they pull them off, every club in Spain and overseas will have reasons to fear Barcelona.
