The summer transfer window is set to end in 24 hours, and as the deadline gets closer, we get to know what could happen during the last day of the open market. German giants Bayern Munich have been very active in recent weeks, getting themselves some good deals for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho and Inter’s Ivan Perisic.
Moreover, the Bavarians don’t look like they are done doing business this summer, and are reportedly planning on striking a deal for their top target this offseason. Bayern were linked with Manchester City’s winger Leroy Sane over the summer, but a move for the German was ruled out after he suffered an injury a couple of weeks ago.
Nevertheless, with the transfer deadline around the corner, reports from England suggest that the Bundesliga champions are set to land Sane. According to the Daily Mirror, the Bavarians are eyeing up some late deals, with the 23-year-old among their targets despite his current injury situation.
Having already signed the likes of Coutinho and Perisic, one could imagine that was the end for Bayern, but that’s far from reality, and now Sane might be making his way to Munich after several months full of rumors and speculation.
Furthermore, the Mirror also link them with an interest in Juventus duo Mario Mandzukic and Emre Can before Monday’s deadline.
City will certainly try to retain their player at all cost, at least until January, when the winter transfer window opens and they can find a replacement. Sane has been a good piece in Pep Guardiola’s squad, even though last season wasn’t as good as everybody expected for him.
However, if he goes to Bayern, he would have a bigger role, with the Bavarians needing more attacking players after losing both Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben at the end of last season.
