Liverpool could get a major boost in no time, as one Bundesliga star is reportedly a move to Anfield Road next summer. It’ll be interesting to see how Jurgen Klopp will figure this out, as Timo Werner has reportedly admitted he’s open to moving to Merseyside.
The German striker is set to make the step up to a bigger club and this could be a great opportunity for him. The talented young attacker has been marvelous over the past few years and now looks ready for a new challenge to show what he can do at a higher level.
According to a report from German outlet Bild, Liverpool look like his favorite option to play next season, with Leipzig perhaps ready to let him go if they receive an offer of around €60 million this summer.
However, this doesn’t look like the end of this saga, as other reports are suggesting different things, with the Daily Mirror also recently linking him with Chelsea.
Still, another journalist, Jan Aage Fjortoft, adds that he also considers the Reds could be favorites for this exciting deal, which he thinks would be the “signing of the summer” if it is completed.
Liverpool count with three incredible assets upfront, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, who have fired them 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. However, if you want to remain at the top, you need to improve and Werner could be a great option to do so.
The Germany international has 25 goals in 26 games in all competitions this season, while Firmino is currently only on nine, despite all the other qualities he brings. It remains to be seen what’s going to happen in the summer, but this move doesn’t sound that crazy for Klopp and company.
