Transfer Rumors: Christian Eriksen To Join La Liga Giants This Summer

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has been rumored to leave North London at the end of the season, with the Danish playmaker being one of the best offensive midfielders in the world over the last couple of campaigns.

Eriksen has been pivotal for Mauricio Pochettino and, while the Argentinean coach would much rather hold onto him for the long term, the club is well aware of the fact that he's already prepared to take a step forward on his career and pursue trophies on a bigger club.

That's why Tottenham president Daniel Levy has allegedly agreed to sell the 27-year-old for a sum close to the €100m, as reported by

Moreover, it's been known that Manchester United wanted to make a run at Eriksen, but the poor relationship between clubs may not favor them in any hypothetical negotiation.

That's why, according to Spanish outlet AS, the Danish midfielder is most likely to end up at Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez really high on his ability to set the tone, play on both sides of the pitch, behind the striker or even at the center of the field with great ease.

Eriksen would perfectly suit Zidane's Real Madrid by pulling the strings of the offense, especially if Toni Kroos winds up leaving the club as rumored.

Real Madrid and Tottenham have already put together quite some great deals in the past by completing the signings of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

As a matter of fact, with Bale eager to get more respect and playing time, perhaps he could be used on a move to land Eriksen, even though he's been rumored to complete a move to Manchester United in order to get Paul Pogba instead.

This season, Eriksen has scored 8 goals and 16 assists in 42 caps for the Spurs, and he'd be welcome with open arms at Santiago Bernabeu for sure.
